As romantic as Sunflowers look - they are a pretty difficult to photograph...

First, BBES. They are everywhere! I mean it! Each flower has at least 2-3 bees. If you have spheksophobia (fear of bees & wasps) - that kind of session is not your cup of tea. Good news - they are actually really busy doing there bee-stuff and don't care about you. You are safe as long as you don't touch them.

Next, Sunflowers are tall! If you photograph kids - there is no way the flowers would be anywhere close to their face... Take a ladder with you! That's actually soooooo helpful! Chair or something like that works as well. Whatever you decide to use, remember - SAFETY FIRST! Always make sure that someone is right next to stairs/chair/box/etc to hold it (see how on photo 1 dad is holding ladder and daughter, who is sitting on it, at the same time. Mom is standing on the first level of the ladder and supported by dad as well).

Sun.... Yep... Sunflowers love sun. Make sure to take pictures early in the morning or later at night. Don't forget to bring water and sunscreen (on photo 2 we are waiting for our client with our ladder and cooler with cold bottles of water for everyone).

Sunflower fields are incredibly beautiful! Just have fun and get some great pictures to remember that day forever! 🌻
